Liverpool-diehard BBC Presenter Mocked live on air by Everton fan Jamie Taylor.

Everton fan Jamie Taylor mocked his colleague, BBC Radio Ulster presenter and Liverpool supporter Connor Phillips, live on air following the Merseyside derby.

Taylor informed his colleague that he had filmed an exclusive interview with the band Green Day for broadcast on the show.

However, the video showed the rock group’s vocalist, Billie Joe Armstrong, congratulating Everton on their Merseyside derby victory.

Taylor then resorted to social media to mock Phillips even further, tweeting a video of the presenter’s reaction on X with the caption: “Sorry, Connor Phillips, you’ve taken the brunt of my Kopite payback. Post-derby day trauma has been developing for 15 years. UTFT!!!”

Everton fans are definitely still celebrating a long-awaited triumph over their rivals at Goodison Park.

The Toffees’ most recent victory over Liverpool came in 2021, when they won 2-0 at Anfield under Carlo Ancelotti, their first since a 1-0 victory in 1999, with Richarlison scoring an early goal before a late Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty sealed the three points.

However, not since October 17, 2010, has the blue half of Merseyside been able to enjoy a derby triumph at home. Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta scored in that game, which was also 2-0, as a side boasting the likes of Tim Howard, Phil Jagielka, and Leighton Baines upset a Liverpool lineup that included Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres..

This latest derby victory at Goodison Park is also significant since Everton will depart their historic facility, which they have called home since 1892 and has hosted more top-flight games than any other stadium in England, at the conclusion of next season.

If Everton fails to reproduce their derby success in the comparable encounter in 2024/25, the victory over Liverpool on April 24th, earned by Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, could be their last at Goodison Park.

Toffees fans would undoubtedly have relished the opportunity to celebrate derby win at Goodison Park at least once more.
