Meghoma joins Igor Thiago, Fábio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg, and Gustavo Nunes as Brentford’s fifth summer addition.

Thomas Frank, the head coach of Brentford, expressed his pleasure on the new addition.

Frank expressed his satisfaction with the signing. “Jayden is an England youth international and one of the biggest left-back talents this country has.”

Frank highlighted Meghoma’s potential, both offensively and defensively.

“I appreciate Jayden’s offensive skills; he’s quick, skilled in one-on-one situations, and has good crossing ability. He also plays good defence. He can play full-back inside or outside and is versatile,” he said.

Jayden is a player in whom we have great faith. He is able to assist us both now and in the future.”

The 18-year-old defender signed a professional contract with Southampton in July 2023, and he made his first appearance for the first team in a Carabao Cup encounter against Gillingham a month later. Meghoma made three more appearances for Southampton during the previous campaign, all in the Emirates FA Cup.

Meghoma has played for England at the under-18 level on a global scale.

He competed for England in the Pinatar Super Cup, which they won in Spain earlier this year.

In addition, he was called up to the England under-19 squad for their impending international matches against Germany, Croatia, and Italy.
