Chelsea rushes to unload five players into closing transfer markets that are still open.

In an attempt to close the summer transfer window with no net spending, Chelsea is rushing to ship more unwanted players to nations where the window is still open.

Ben Chilwell
The Blues are still looking for buyers for Ben Chilwell, David Datro Fofana, Harvey Vale, Alex Matos, and Deivid Washington. Yesterday, they sold 19-year-old Brazilian winger Angelo Gabriel to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for almost £19 million.

Although clubs in Turkey, Greece, and Belgium can still sign players, the Saudi window is closed as well.

Gabriel, a player Chelsea bought £13 million for from Santos last summer but who never played in a competitive match for them, brought in £6 million for the club.

After he left, Chelsea sold players for about £189 million this summer, and after spending about £208 million on new hires, they are about balanced financially.

Chelsea would prefer to sell Chilwell, but it looks more probable that they will send him out on loan. After being shut out by Enzo Maresca, Chilwell’s greatest chance of getting a move between now and January is in Turkey.

Chilwell, who was unable to obtain a move during the English transfer season, has been informed he would not play for Maresca and could be without a job for months.
