After Celtic’s 7-1 victory over Dundee, Chris Sutton insists that “you don’t know which Celtic team will turn up this season”.
Cameron Carter-Vickers, Adam Idah, Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda, Greg Taylor, Callum McGregor, and Daniel Kelly scored as the Scottish champions easily defeated Tony Docherty’s side.
However, Sutton believes Brendan Rodgers’ side should not get carried away with the result and that there is still plenty of football to play.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said, “Let’s not get too carried away with that. It was a big night for the goal difference. Rangers one better off are they?
“So it is a big night in that respect. But Rangers getting a win at Rugby Park was massive for them. What a game we have got on Sunday.
“Celtic go to Hearts, and let’s get it right; we don’t know which Celtic team is going to turn up on the evidence of what we’ve seen this season.”
Meanwhile, Sydney van Hooijdonk has criticized Scottish football while revealing the ‘truth’ about a potential move to Celtic.
The striker, son of ex-Celt Pierre, was widely expected to join Parkhead on loan during the January transfer window.
However, he eventually moved from Bologna to Norwich, and Adam Idah went on loan to Glasgow.
The Dutchman admits that no official talks took place between the Scottish champions and his representatives over the winter, but he did reveal that there was contact last summer.
Van Hooijdonk admits to being a Celtic fan, but his views on the Premiership are not particularly positive.
Speaking to Pink Un, he stated, “To be honest, I didn’t speak with Celtic this winter.
“You see a lot of things, but this winter, I didn’t speak with them. Yes, last summer, there was a bit. It is a lovely club, and I am a fan of them as well, but the Championship and a team that is fighting for the play-offs was really nice.
“This league is at a higher level than that league, so I’m really happy to be here.”
