There’s a second Crawford Allan/Rangers coincidence that should interest Celtics supporters.

The SFA and the referees await Celtic next week, and it appears that Crawford Allan’s resignation has opened a whole new box of worms.

Celtic players and their income

We previously reported this week about the peculiar penalty coincidence that was discovered four years ago when Allan was appointed Head of Referees and how it led to two amazing penalty-free suns for Rangers in the SPFL.

To be clear, this website does not advocate for any wrongdoing. However, another “ridiculous” penalty coincidence involving the differences in penalties that Celtic and Rangers have been awarded and conceded has surfaced.

As Lint mentioned, this season’s referees have given Celtic a disproportionately high number of penalties in comparison to the previous two.

This is fortunate because, in contrast to Ange Postecoglou, Celtic’s performances have been so dismal that the outcomes of our games are now beginning to be impacted by the calls made by the referees.

That was not the case under Ange, though. Postecolgou ensured that his teams were so good that the decisions made by the referees had no bearing on the outcome.

That is where Brendan Rodgers needs Celtic. And it appears like he is getting there after his performance against St Johnstone at the weekend.

Let’s hope poor refereeing decisions do not cost Celtic the title this season. However, the Hearts outcome may have already contributed to a possible title loss.

This will make Rodgers’ SFA hearing next week even more fascinating, and it will be interesting to hear how the audio from the VAR sounds, assuming it is accessible.
