“Goal Posts Constantly Shifting” Everton the Club Facing the Brunt of it, and Sean Dyche is growing sick and tired.

  1.  The Premier League will continue to use points deduction penalties, despite reports to the contrary following what occurred to Everton. according to Martyn Ziegler.

The Daily Mail claimed on Thursday, April 4, that the Premier League was considering removing point deductions and instituting a “luxury tax.”.
This comes after both Everton and Nottingham Forest have had points deducted this season.

However, Ziegler has since written in The Times (5 April) that England’s top division intends to preserve points-deduction penalties but is exploring implementing a tariff that would punish teams with fines rather than deductions for minor offenses.

This new method might be implemented as early as the 2025/26 Premier League season, assuming it is agreed at a meeting of clubs in June.

Everton and Sean Dyche would be right to demand clarity from the Premier League

Given that the Premier League is supposed to be the peak of English football, and possibly even European football, the situation is ridiculous.

One minute one rule is in effect, and the next minute another rule is being examined, with the goalposts continually shifting and Everton bearing the brunt of it.

Clarity is required, and all 20 clubs deserve an equal playing field, with the Toffees likely questioning why just they and Nottingham Forest have received punishments.

The PSR regulations appear to be made up as they go, and Sean Dyche will be frustrated of attempting to govern a football team in this current climate.

The gap between playing in the Premier League and the Championship is enormous financially, and things need to be sorted sooner rather than later so that the players and supporters can focus on what is most important, in the game of football.
