Pep Guardiola has revealed that he is aware that any missing points will result in Manchester City losing their Premier League title.
City are currently third in the Premier League rankings, trailing Liverpool and Arsenal, as they seek to recapture their crown.
If they win the title for the fourth year in a row, they will have accomplished something unprecedented in the Premier title.
However, with eight games remaining, the champions are three points behind Liverpool and trailing on goal difference.
Guardiola believes that if his team drops any points now, it might be devastating to their title hopes.
“We are third and not far from the top of the league,” he said.
“If we drop points it will be almost impossible, so we have to win this game.”
City will face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park at 12:30PM on Saturday, live on talkSPORT.
Earlier this season, Palace earned a well-deserved draw at the Etihad, and a repeat performance would do Arsenal and Liverpool wonders.
However, due to fitness concerns, Guardiola may be without important players Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne.
“Playing at 12:30 BST and playing two days ago, I have to think [if Haaland and De Bruyne will return]. There are so many games,” he said.
“We play less than two and a half days after our last game. Some players recover quicker than others.
