£28million Newcastle United Star has made ‘improvements’ throughout a difficult Newcastle spell , with confidence high for next season.

The 19-year-old left-back has impressed fans in his appearances so far, but knows the best is still to come.

Lewis Hall: Why Chelsea FC sold him and what Newcastle have planned for young star | Evening Standard

Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall confesses he wants to show Toon fans what he is capable of in the coming years.

The left-back’s departure from Chelsea will be announced soon, although he is expected to have initiated a permanent £28 million transfer. Hall concedes that his first few months on Tyneside have been a learning experience after working closely with Eddie Howe and the backroom crew, but he believes he will be ready to go next season.

Nonetheless, Hall expects to play a role in the next half dozen games of the current season after patiently waiting for his chance. When asked about impressing the fans, Hall told Chronicle Live: “Whenever I play, I want people to be confident in me. I want them to feel excited.

“I want to give something going forward and defensively as well which I have been working on and improving. It is a big thing for me to show the fans what I can do. Hopefully, as time goes on they will appreciate it more and more.”

Newcastle trounced Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 last weekend and will rest this weekend before travelling to Crystal Palace in the middle of the week. Hall has been encouraged by the improvement in form.

Hall reflected: “We have gone on a good run in the last few games. Everton was disappointing not to come away with three points. But we have a couple of nice wins now and we are right in the mix for Europe. The aim is to finish as high as possible. If we can that will be an amazing achievement given the amount of injuries behind the scenes this year. It will be massive.”

The big win over Spurs sends Newcastle into that clash with Palace on the back of excellent performance. Howe’s team will be desperate to pick up where they left off.

Hall said: “It’s been really good, it was a repeat of last season a little bit against Spurs and the scoreline was very good.”
