Arsenal and Chelsea get Benjamin Sesko transfer update as stunning release clause emerges - football.london

Sesko spent four years with Red Bull Salzburg before joining Red Bull Leipzig last summer. However, after just one season, the Bundesliga club is already prepared to lose the 20-year-old.

The Slovenian international has been predicted for a huge future since his days at Salzburg, and that promise has continued in Leipzig, where he has 13 goals in 37 games this season.

Sesko, who has been compared to Erling Haaland, has a €50 million (£42.7 million) release clause in his contract, which will become active in the summer.

The Evening Standard reports that Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all interested in Sesko. The player’s agents are said to have attended both of the latter two clubs’ games this season.

Newcastle’s interest in Sesko extends back to his time in Austria, but any deal would be subject to Premier League Profitability and Sustainability (PSR) wriggle room, as well as the futures of Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.

Isak has many admirers around Europe after establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s finest strikers this season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions. United manager Eddie Howe is convinced that the Swede must stay.

Wilson is significantly more likely to leave, as the England international is out of contract in 2025. Wilson, who returned to Tyneside this week after a two-month absence due to a pectoral injury, will be eager to demonstrate his future potential.

The 32-year-old is a prolific Premier League goalscorer, having scored seven in 16 appearances this season, but he has struggled with injuries.
