Newcastle ‘verbal agreement’ for Miggy
Newcastle has apparently reached a “verbal agreement” with Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab for Miguel Almiron. One of several reports in recent days claimed that the 29-year-old could be used as a scapegoat to free up Financial Fair Play funds.
Almiron has been one of Eddie Howe’s success stories since his appointment, but his performances have dipped this season. He turns 30 next month, and now could be the best time to cash in, given Almiron’s low book value since joining five years ago.
Reporter Ben Jacobs broke the story that Al-Shabab wanted the winger, and he provided an update last night, claiming Newcastle had reached a “verbal agreement” with the Saudi club. Almiron, who is said to be very happy at Newcastle United, is ready to stay.
