PGMOL chief Howard Webb is apparently hoping to put an end to Nottingham Forest’s VAR drama with peace talks slated for Friday.

Forest were outraged by the non-penalty decisions made by referee Anthony Taylor and VAR Stuart Attwell during Sunday’s defeat to Everton.

The club’s request for access to audio files between match officials has been granted, as has protocol, and Mail Online has now detailed how this will play out. Crucially, it appears that PGMOL, while dissatisfied with the club’s response, hopes to handle the situation quickly and peacefully ahead of Sunday’s match against Manchester City.

They report that Forest will receive the audio data they sought tomorrow, Friday April 26, along with a private video call with Webb to resolve the situation. He will most likely chat with owner Evangelos Marinakis, minority shareholder Sokratis Kominakis, and, depending on his team’s training schedule, manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Depending on the conclusion of this meeting, the Premier League and Football Association will conduct investigations to resolve the remaining issues raised by this dispute.

On Monday, the league expressed disappointment with Forest’s answer and offered to investigate their original statement in accordance with their guidelines, while the FA followed up by requesting the club, Nuno, defender Neco Williams, and consultant Mark Clattenburg to clarify their post-match comments in view of potential charges.
