The setback keeps Forest in relegation danger, with the squad now barely out of the relegation zone by goal difference.

Forest desperately needed a positive result in North London after Everton and Luton both won and Brentford drew.

At halftime, the Reds had worked hard to tie the game at 1-1, but on another day, Chris Wood did not hit the post, and Forest led at the break.

It wasn’t to be, though, as Forest were left to rue a lot of disappointing displays, particularly from skipper Yates, who battled.

We scored him a 3/10 in our player ratings piece and Roy Keane also had some stern words for him during the half-time interval.

What Roy Keane said about Ryan Yates during Forest defeat

This all started when Yates believed James Maddison should have been sent off for seeming to punch the Forest captain in the stomach.

It was reviewed by VAR, but the Tottenham star remained on the pitch, and Simon Hooper gave Maddison and Yates a ticking off.

Keane has witnessed it all before with Yates at Forest. He was assistant manager at the City Ground while Martin O’Neill was in charge, and the midfielder was rising through the ranks.

He thought the incident was a non-issue and said that he’d like to see Yates stay on his feet more often.

Keane remarked live on Sky Sports: “I’ve worked with Yates at Forest, really nice kid but every week, someone touches him and he goes down. He goes down far too easily, for such a decent lad, he needs to cut that out of his game.”

This was a bit of a disaster for Yates, as his Forest performance fell short of expectations. It was impressive that he was able to stay on the pitch for 80 minutes of this game.

The 26-year-old did not exaggerate his achievements. He was slow to move the ball, inefficient in possession, and had an incredible tendency for handing out foolish fouls.

Yates, who committed four fouls in the first 13 minutes of this game, should take note of what Keane is saying.

The man who used to teach Yates at Forest looks to be a fan of the player, but going down easily appears to be a bad habit that he is acquiring.

Forest will not have their Their season is defined by today’s result. Yates needs to get himself together if he wants to maintain his jersey, and he will be eager to move on quickly after this performance.
